The aim of sustainable finance is pivotal: to hasten the shift to an economy that’s truly sustainable. Yet, the concept of 'sustainability' often becomes muddled, encompassing a range of initiatives that may not always align with the goal of fostering an economy that's both low in carbon and inclusive. What does it really mean to achieve a sustainable economy, and how significant is the role of finance in this transformation? How can we verify that our strategies are effectively guiding us towards a genuinely sustainable economy? Additionally, what contributions can the private sector make in this journey, and in what ways can the financial sector support these efforts?
